General Conference to a missionary is like Christmas.
Except you get everything you need.
Not just what you want.
I hope each of you have taken the time to really get into General Conference.
To hear what the prophet and apostles have said and to take counsel from their words.
The Lord knows our day and He wants to help us prepare for the challenges ahead. Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he reavealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets (Amos 3:7).
The Heavens are not closed. The Lord still speaks. He has called inspired men, and, as in days gone by, given them direction for our day.
Here’s my top 12 from this session.
President Monson: We Never Walk Alone
“We were not placed on this earth to walk alone … He will be there for us to provide help if we but ask.”

“First doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith.”
D. Todd Christofferson: The Moral Force of Women
“And do not be afraid to apply that influence without fear or apology.”
“You cannot lift others to virtue on the one hand if you are entertaining vice on the other.”
Arnulfo Valenzuela: Small and Simple Things
“If the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it.” 2 Kings 5:13
Jeffrey R. Holland: Like a Broken Vessel
“If the bitter cup does not pass, drink it and be strong, trusting in happier days ahead.”
“Don’t assume you can fix everything, but fix what you can.”
M. Russell Ballard: Put Your Trust in the Lord
“Simply stated, it’s a matter of faith and action on our part.”
“We are not asking everyone to do everything. We are simply asking all members to … reach out to just “one” between now and Christmas.”

Mormon Tabernacle Choir: Master the Tempest is Raging
Henry B. Eyring: To My Grandchildren
“He knows what difficulties we will pass through. He sent His Son to suffer so that He would know how to succor us in all our trials.”
“Heavenly Father has made each of us unique. No two of us have exactly the same experiences. No two families are alike. So it is not surprising that advice about how to choose happiness in family life is hard to give. Yet a loving Heavenly Father has set the same path to happiness for all of His children.”
Mormon Tabernacle Choir: Oh Divine Redeemer
Neil L. Anderson: Power in the Priesthood
“A man may open the drapes … but the man does not own the sun or the light or the warmth it brings.
Terence M. Vinson: Drawing Closer to God
“A young boy was trying to smooth out the dirt area behind his house so he could play there with his cars. There was a large rock obstructing his work. The boy pushed and pulled with all his might, but no matter how hard he tried, the rock wouldn’t budge. His father watched for a while, then came to his son and said, ‘You need to use all your strength to move a rock this large.’
The boy responded, ‘I have used all my strength!’
His father corrected him: ‘No you haven’t. You haven’t had my help yet!'”
